Gold
Plus also offer Heat Strengthened glass.
Heat Strengthened glass is not a substitute for
toughened glass in applications requiring a safety
glazing material. However with a strength of approximately
twice that of annealed glass, it is recommended
for applications requiring extra strength and
greater thermal resistance than annealed glass.
Unlike toughened glass, which in the unlikely
event of fracturing, breaks into granules, Heat
Strengthened glass simply cracks. It then tends
to remain in the glazed position since the break
cracks are few in number and their interlocking
pattern limits relative movement.
